Red Wings fail to get the job done

The Detroit Wings made an incredible come back in the series against Chicago coming back from a 3-1 deficit taking the series straight through to game 7 by tying it up.  Game 7 saw the game go to overtime but Chicago prevailed in overtime taking the series 7 games to 6.

The disappointed could not be hidden by the team or the fans with many devastated to see Detroit not come through with a win in Game 7. It wasn’t until the third period that Detroit was able to tie the game with a goal from Brent Seabrook who got one past Kronwall. This saw game 7 go into overtime and only 3 minutes into overtime Chicago was able to get one in the net to advance towards the semi-finals.

Nyquist stated “We were feeling good about our play throughout the game and started strong for the 3rd period. After getting one in the net we gained momentum and it gave us the energy we needed. Unfortunately Chicago beat us to the punch and scored first in overtime. That is how things go at times”

Detroit is still looked upon as one of the best teams in the NHL and will be sure to come out looking to go the distance for the next season.
